Privacy

This page says what I collect when you use barringerpestcontrol.com, what it is for, who sees it, and how to have it corrected or deleted. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, text or email me and I will answer.
What I collect
- What you type into the quote form: your name, phone number, email, street address, city and ZIP, the pests you picked, how soon you need help, a preferred day if you gave one, what you wrote about the problem, and how you heard about me.
- When you call or text: your number and what we discuss, so I can quote and schedule the work.
- Technical basics: the site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (your IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to run the site. I do not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or any tracking scripts on this site.
Public property records
To give you an accurate price before I arrive, I look up your home in the public San Diego County assessor records: living square footage, lot size, year built, number of bedrooms, garage, and whether there is a pool. Pest control is priced by the size and layout of the house, and this saves you from measuring. I do not look up, keep or use income, home value, credit, or anything about you as a person, and I do not copy owner names from those records.
What it is used for
- Replying to your request, working out a price, and scheduling a visit.
- Calling, texting or emailing you about your request and your service. If you would rather not get texts, reply STOP or just tell me.
- Keeping the service, pesticide-use and billing records that California requires licensed pest control companies to keep.
- Nothing else. I do not sell, rent or trade your information, and I do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
I use a few services to run a one-person company. Each one handles your information only to do its job for me:
- Netlify hosts the site and delivers the quote form to my email.
- Google (Gmail, Drive, Calendar) holds my email, files and schedule.
- Anthropic's Claude is the software I use to read requests, prepare quotes and plan my route. It processes the request details and the public property facts above.
- Intuit QuickBooks for invoices and payments, once you are a customer.
Beyond these, I share information only if the law requires it (for example, pesticide-use reporting to the county agricultural commissioner, which does not include your name) or with your permission.
How long I keep it
Quote requests that do not turn into a job are deleted within 12 months. For customers, service and pesticide-use records are kept for as long as you are a customer and for the period California requires afterwards (at least two years), because I am required to be able to show what was applied, where and when.
Your choices
- Ask what I have about you, correct it, or have it deleted: text (760) 613-9427 or email barringerpest@gmail.com. I will confirm within 10 business days. The only things I may have to keep are records the law requires.
- Opt out of texts or emails at any time by saying so.
- Barringer Pest Control is a small sole proprietorship well under the thresholds of the California Consumer Privacy Act, so the CCPA's formal process does not apply, but I honor the same requests anyway.
Do Not Track
This site has no tracking, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to turn off. I do not respond to the signal differently from any other visit.
Children
The site and the quote form are for adults arranging service at a home. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this page changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. Nothing changes retroactively about how information already collected is used without telling you.
